President Goodluck Jonathan Should Be Blamed For Eagles Failure {See Why}

Outspoken former head of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Anthony Koj-Williams has blamed President Goodluck Jonathan for the failure of the Super Eagles to qualify for next year's Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea

President Goodluck Jonathan
Speaking yesterday to Saturday Vanguard Sports, Kojo said that it was wrong for President Jonthan to overturn the decision of the NFF to relieve Keshi of his duties after last month's AFCON qualifying match against Sudan in Abuja, arguing that the Presidential directive created the mess Eagles have found themselves in now.

“The one person who created this mess is the President. It was wrong of him recall Keshi when he was told to go by the NFF.

We do not know if Nigeria would have qualified under the consortium of coaches led by Shaibu Amodu but that infamous decision to recall Keshi was responsible for our failure as the latter became bigger than the NFF as he was no longer answerable to them again”, said a livid Kojo.

Indeed, Keshi, in the days leading to the final two AFCON 2015 qualifying matches against Congo and South Africa, said his future with the team was not tied to the Eagles performance, a subtle way of saying that no matter the results that he was going to remain in charge..

It is this attitude of the former Togo and Mali manager that Kojo finds most resentful, insisting that it was time for some total cleansing of the football house.

He pointedly attacked the NFF board, led by Amaju Pinnick as a lame duck for accepting full responsibility for Keshi's failure to safely steer the Eagles ship to next year's AFCON.

“The NFF as presently led by Amaju Pinnick has been caged. Those guys do not have the guts to stand on their decision.

It is most shameful and disgusting that they have accepted responsibility for Keshi's failure to qualify for the Nations Cup.

“When Siasis failed to qualify the Eagles for the Nations Cup in 2012, he was sacked.

So why are they afraid to sack Keshi after he failed to qualify us for Equatorial Guinea 2015? I am totally shocked with what is going on. I am tired of this country.

“I expected Pinnick and his board to have resigned when the President overturned their decision to sack Keshi because they are the ones running our football, not our President, who has a lot on his hands to deal with.

They should have stuck to their ground and told the President why they sacked Keshi but all of them, simply kept quiet and look at the mess that came out of that decision”, Kojo added.

28 Confirmed Dead As Gun Men Attack Bus In Kenya

Gunmen have attacked a bus and reportedly killed at least 28 eight passengers who were heading to the Kenyan capital Nairobi from Mandera in country's northeast, local media said.

A reporter for Kenya's Standard newspaper told Al Jazeera Saturday's attack happened at 5:45am local time when the bus had covered 8km of the journey.

Quoting Mandera County Commissioner, journalist Boniface Mungeri said the attack was carried out by “about 100 gunmen who commandeered” the bus and forced the passengers out.

Mungeri said the passengers were separated into groups according to their religion. Non-Muslims, the reporter said, were executed and Muslims were freed. The assailants attempted to take the bus but it got stuck in mud on the unpaved road.

Among those killed were two security officers and teachers who were travelling to their home towns on holiday, said the reporter.

The Kenyan Inspector General of Police was scheduled to hold a news conference on the incident at 07:00 GMT.

Kenyan authorities have blamed the Somali armed group al-Shabab for the attack. Mandera shares a border with Somalia, where Kenya sent troops in 2011 after raids on its coastal towns blamed on al-Shabab.

Al-Shabab has also been blamed for the September 2013 attack on the Westgate shopping mall, which killed 77 people.

Mario Balotelli Has Hit Back At His Critics..Check Out His Reply

Mario Balotelli has hit back at his critics over his Liverpool goalscoring record after insisting he will start netting more goals for the club, UK's Metro reports via Fox Sport Australia.

The Italian striker has endured a difficult start to life at his new club since completing a £16million move to The Reds from AC Milan in the summer, having netted just two goals in cup competitions and failing to open his goalscoring account in the Premier League.

Despite struggling to replace the goals of former Liverpool star Luis Suarez in his short time in Merseyside so far, Balotelli has now responded to criticism over his perceived lack of effort during games by rating his performances as 'seven [out of 10], because I run more than before.'

Balotelli went on to tell Fox Sports Australia: 'The goals, they will come. It is something that's just not coming at the moment. But it's not something that has just gone.

'Run, like I'm running now, I've never run like this.

'I don't need people to believe in me so long as I believe in myself. The important people for me are my family and my few close friends, as long as they believe in me.

'Some think because I didn't score and didn't start well this season that I can't be one of the top players, a really good player for this team. That's their business.

'I don't care what stories people say about me because I know they are lying.'

He is quoted by The Mirror as saying: “The club has spoken to my representatives and hopefully something can be done really soon.

“Hopefully I can achieve the goals I want to achieve here at Liverpool in years to come.”

Sterling was brought to Liverpool by former manager Rafael Benitez In 2010

DR CONGO DECLARED EBOLA FREE BY W.H.O.

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared on Friday that an outbreak of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo was over after no people showed symptoms for two incubation periods since the last case.

The outbreak, the seventh in the former Zaire since the virus was identified there in 1976, was separate from the one spreading in West Africa, where more than 5,400 people have died, Reuters reports.

There were 49 deaths out of 66 people infected in the remote northwestern Equateur province during the three-month outbreak, Congolese authorities said last week.

Two maximum incubation periods of 21 days each must pass with no new cases being detected before the United Nations health agency can declare that an outbreak is finished.

“Having reached that 42-day mark, the Democratic Republic of Congo is now considered free of Ebola transmission,” the WHO said in a statement.

“WHO commends the Democratic Republic of Congo's strong leadership and effective coordination of the response that included rapidly mobilising an expert response team to Jeera County, identifying and monitoring contacts and organizing safe burials,” the WHO said.

CONFESSIONS: WITH RONALDO I AM A BETTER PLAYER- GARETH BALE

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has voiced his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo and says the Portugal star has made him a better player.

Bale joined Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2013 and formed a dangerous attacking partnership with Ronaldo and Karim Benzema in his first season at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Welshman has been struggling with injury problems this term but says he is continuing to learn from the former Manchester United man.

“Learning off the best player in the world is just incredible,” Bale told The Telegraph.

“Ronaldo has been amazing since I've been there and I learn something new every day. He's helping me become a better player, which is my constant goal. I'm trying to get up to his level.

“In fact, I've even been trying to improve my right foot.”

Bale went on to admit that it would have been difficult to leave Tottenham for any other club than the current European champions.

“If it wasn't Real Madrid, it would have been very, very difficult to ever leave,” he said.

“I loved my time at Tottenham and the fans were always incredible to me. I think they understood that the opportunity to join Real Madrid was a once-in-a lifetime chance and at the time I was playing well and I wanted to test myself.

“Without Real Madrid, I would have loved to still be there playing for Spurs. But winning the Champions League shows exactly why I wanted to make the move.

“I still want Arsenal to lose and Spurs to win, though..”

SHOCKER: FOOTBALL PLAYER EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR EJECTS HIS MUM FROM MANSION {SEE WHY}

Togolese footballer,  Emmauel Adebayor is said to have have ejected his mother madam Alice Adebayor from the US$ 1.5million he bought for the family.

It is reported that he is at logger-heads with his relatives who he accused of doing rituals against him.He accuses the mum of using “Juju” against him , to end his career

Adebayor's cousin Margaret told Peace FM Power Sports

“For the past six years Adebayor has rejected his mother and his immediate family whilst doing charity outside on the premise that our mother is a witch,We have been thinking of his future as a footballer and did not want this issue out in the media but it is becoming too much.

As at now, our mother is selling polythene bags, padlocks and other things on the border (Ghana/Togo frontier).

Our mother has not seen him for more than a year and he rejects her calls anytime…our mother is not calling him for his money; she just wants to see him because she loves him very much..

Could you believe Adebayor ordered his machomen to sack our mother and his own mother from a house he built in Togo claiming she is a witch? (Continue)

As we speak our mother lives in an apartment rented by our junior brother, Kola Adebayor, who currently lives in Germany.

My mother weeps bitterly about the issue every day.  Anytime his mother or any of us (his close relatives) call and he realizes, he will quickly cut the call.

“I personally supervised the building of his house in Trassaco and he gave us an apartment in the house. But all of a sudden he changed his attitude towards us, one afternoon his machomen came to drive us away from the house.”

Adebayor however denied the allegations although he admitted his relationship with his family has been severed.

He told Peace Fm

“Obviously I'm not a pastor, I am a footballer so I cannot point out a witch. I never sacked my mum from the house; she decided to leave the house…But how am I going to be in touch with my mum if my mum is the one telling everyone that my work will not go forward, so I will just be on my side and do my thing.

They should stop talking talking, they should stop doing Juju on me; they should leave me alone…The one talking there and calling herself my sister I bought a house in East Legon for $1.2m…can you imagine that sister went to rent the house without my knowledge?”

According to the former Arsenal star for this issue to be resolved, he called them about a year ago when his brother died and told them to stop going to juju people and sit down at home.

“They don't listen to me so I don't know how to solve this now,They shared my houses, they shared my cars, they say if he dies this car is for you, this house is for you, can you imagine? Right now they don't need money…If they claim I am not looking after my mother, we are seven and so why can't the rest do it?

“Ask my sister Margaret whether I did not build them a house in East Legon, and what happened to it? I bought my younger sister Lucia a car worth $35,000, where is it?If they want the issue resolved they should stop spreading the news and let's meet to resolve it but they aren't willing to do so.

ADDICTION: Two sisters apprehended trying to smuggle ‘weed’ to their brother in cell

Two sisters were on Wednesday apprehended while attempting to smuggle 11 wraps of marijuana to their brother, Babatunde Oyetobi, inside the holding cell at the Ikeja High Court premises.

NAN reports that the sisters, Mrs Atinuke Adebayo, 32, and Miss Shade Oyetobi, 24, were apprehended by officers of the Nigerian Prison Services.

According to NAN, their brother, Babatunde, is facing charges of assault and armed robbery before Justice Sedoten Ogunsanya.

Speaking with newsmen, the prison official who foiled the plan, Mr A.R. Muhammad, said the two sisters had approached him that they wanted to see their brother.

According to NAN, Muhammad said Shade was holding a cellophane bag and when he queried her about its content, they told him it contained leather slippers.

He said upon his insistence that the bag should be searched, 11 wraps of marijuana and a jar of Vaseline were found inside the bag.

According to him, inmates usually insert wraps of marijuana in their anus with the aid of the Vaseline and excrete them inside the prison yard.

In tears, Shade told newsmen that one of her brother's friends, Jamiu, called her and gave her the hard drugs to deliver to him.

The suspect, who claimed to be a hair dresser, said she knew her brother would be in court and that was why she brought the marijuana to him.

On her part, Adebayo, said she had three children and was the elder sister to Shade and Babatunde.

Adebayo said that she used to come to court to meet her brother whenever his matter was on trial.

She, however, denied knowledge of her younger sister's ulterior motive to smuggle the drugs to Babatunde inside the cell.

NAN reports that the two were later handed over to Police officers from the Area F Police Command for further investigations and prosecution.
