Mercy Johnson Set To Feature Don Jazzy On Her Debut Single

One of the biggest Nollywood queens Mercy Johnson has hinted on her ambition to enter the music industry as a singer.

The actress who has starred in several hit movies said super producer Don Jazzy will be on her soon to be released single. She tweeted her intention to drop new music pretty soon and posted a picture of her and the Mavin Boss together at the AMVCA that held on Sunday, March 8, 2015.

She tweeted “With @DONJAZZY at AMVCA…watch out for my single…its Don Jazzy again!” Don Baba Jay then retweeted the actress’ tweet and added “Osheee Tell em“.

No further information has been revealed about Mercy Johnson’s music career.

Kendrick Lamar Unveils Album Cover

After announcing the release date last week, Kendrick Lamar has unveiled the cover and possible title for his sophomore album. The Compton MC took to Instagram on Tuesday night to post the black-and-white artwork, which shows his homies wildin’ out in front of the White House, while a judge lies on the floor with his eyes X’d out.

It’s unclear what the title is, but it may be To Pimp a Butterfly based on Kendrick’s caption.

“Don’t all dogs go to heaven? Don’t Gangsta’s boogie? Do owl shit stank? Lions, Tigers & Bears. But TO PIMP A BUTTERFLY. Its the American dream nigga….” – lil Homie.

The follow-up to his 2012 debut good kid, m.A.A.d city drops March 23 featuring 16 tracks including “The Blacker the Berry.”

ICE PRINCE LAUNCHES PERSONAL RECORD LABEL

Just like his mentor, M.I. Abaga who is signed to Chocolate City and also label owner for Loopy Musik, rap entertainer Panshak Zamani aka Ice Prince has unveiled his self-owned record label with an official announcement scheduled for a later date.

The label, ”Super Cool Cats” has always been Ice’s dream and has now materialized into fruition. Speaking with MTV UK last year, the rapper said…

“There’s Super Cool Cats music, my new outfit, and I have a few artists that I want to introduce to the world. There’s a girl called Ruth and a guy called Stunt. They’re all super cool cats. And there are a lot of producers in that outfit as well.”

While Stunt just released his debut single ‘Ojukokoro’, Chocolate City CEO, Audu Maikori has expressed his excitement about the growth of his label acts.

He further and quite clearly too that Ice Prince will not encounter any challenges associated with his Chocolate City dealings and that of managing his record label.

Instead, he pledged to continue their show of support. Hear him.
“We are very happy with it, there’s no friction between both labels.” Audu told Hip TV.

“Ice Prince also has Super Cool Cats, which is his new imprint and it’s coming out soon, one of the things Choc City set out to do is to be the mother body and create that platform for others to grow and we have encouraged that actively by supporting their projects.”

Basket Mouth Goes Hard On Tonto Dikeh And Dbanj

Basketmouth cracks joke about D’banj and Tonto Dikeh’s music career at the award show
Sunday March 7, 2015, the prestigious Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award 2015 ceremony was held at the Eko Hotel and Suites.

During the course of the show, popular Nigerian Basketmouth took to the stage in a sharp two-piece grey suit and did his magic on the crowd.

Basketmouth’s jokes begun with the white/gold/blue/black dress that was trending on a few weeks back. He joked saying Nigerians mostly saw blue and black because we are depressed that they believe D’banj is still making hit music and Tonto Dikeh now sings.

Tonto Dikeh who was sitted in the audience wearing a red and gold dress reacted to it by shaking her head and did what looked like a silent prayer. Tonto Dikeh is known to be a member of D’banj’s DB records and recently shot a video for her song ‘Sugar Rush’.

D’banj on the other hand seems to be doing all her can to evade the fact that he is being summoned to court. He is currently touring as part of his 10th anniversary movement and performed at Industry Nite Dubai last Wednesday.
