A man who went to the doctors complaining of earache was horrified to discover he had a family of cockroaches living in his ear. Not only was there a big mummy cockroach taking up residence in his ear canal, but she had spawned 25 little baby roaches. The 19-year-old patient, known only as Mr Li, had gone to hospital after his ear became itchy and painful. Doctors took a look inside his ear and were shocked to discover it was crawling with tiny insects.
They believe the female cockroach went inside Mr Li’s ear several weeks before laying her eggs.
Doctors said that had Mr Li not come to hospital in time, his ear would have been “destroyed”.
Yang Jing, a doctor from Chang’an Xiaobian Hospital in Dongguan, told TVS: “We saw an insect-shaped object blocking his ear canal completely.”
Cockroaches, who are often pitched as the only creature that would survive a nuclear explosion, are hardy insects that can survive for months with no food.

BIOGRAPHY OF MR ADEFUYE
Mr. Adefuye hailed from Ijebu-Igbo in 1947, and studied at the University of Ibadan where he earned his first degree in 1969 as well as a PhD in history in 1973.
He also received a Fulbright Fellowship that enabled him to do research work at Columbia University, the University of North Florida, and the University of Florida in Gainesville.
Mr. Adefuye was recalled to Nigeria after President Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in as President. He was still waiting to hand over to a new ambassador when he suddenly died.
A former professor of history, Mr. Adefuye was in 2010 appointed by former President Goodluck Jonathan as Nigeria’s ambassador in the US. An outspoken person and fierce defender of Nigeria, the deceased diplomat tackled critics of Nigeria in the US. He vociferously lobbied against Nigeria’s classification as “a country of interest” in America’s terrorism watch list. Ambassador Adefuye, who wrote several history texts, taught at the University of Lagos, earning a professorship and heading the History Department 1985 to 1987. Prior to his appointment to Nigeria’s Embassy in Washington, DC, Mr. Adefuye served as his country’s ambassador to Jamaica (where he was concurrently accredited to Haiti and Belize) from 1987 to 1991.
In 1991, he was appointed Nigeria’s Deputy High Commissioner in the U.K., leaving to work for fourteen years as a Deputy Director at the Commonwealth. On leaving the Commonwealth, the former professor accepted a position as an advisor at the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed the corruption allegations against immediate past Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, with a wave of the hand. The party in a statement issued Sunday morning in Port Harcourt by its State Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, said that the latest allegation by the wailing Care-taker Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike camp that Amaechi has foreign bank accounts lacks substance.
“These stories flooding the Internet and Social Media about former Governor Amaechi are mere fabrications intended to ridicule him and poison the mind of President Muhammadu Buhari, who is expected to make Amaechi a key member of his cabinet. For the avoidance of doubt, Amaechi has no account with a Bank in Minnesota, USA, as alleged by these devious rumour mongers. It is also not true that CNN’s Christiane Amanpour accused Amaechi of corruption, as being claimed by his detractors. Besides, at no time did Amaechi write to Bancorp or any bank in Switzerland, stating that he deposited any funds in error. These are wicked lies concocted by evil-minded persons desperate to pull down Amaechi but who are bound to fail,” Rivers APC said.
The party expressed regret that some saboteurs within the party have made themselves available for use by Chief Wike in tarnishing Amaechi’s hard-earned reputation just because of pecuniary benefits. “We wish to warn these saboteurs to stop playing Judas and return Wike’s money to him or be prepared to face the consequences with their new-found master whose wrongful occupation of the Rivers State Government House will soon be ended by the State Governorship Election Tribunal,” Rivers APC said.
It assured Amaechi of the party’s unflinching support, assuring him that he would be vindicated at the end of the day.

A MOB on Sunday morning in Calabar, the Cross River State capital butchered and set ablaze a young man beside the fence of the Atu Secondary School along Goldie Street for allegedly robbing a woman of a pot of soup while two of his accomplices managed to escape.
The hoodlum in the company of two others are alleged to have attacked the woman in the wee hours of the Sunday at No 3, Mayne Avenue Extension in Calabar South and were attracted by the aroma of the soup the woman was warming in readiness to eat with her children before heading for the early morning mass at the nearby St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and decided to cartthe pot of soup away.
A young man who lives in the same premises with the lady said as the robbers were about to get out of the compound with the pot of soup, the woman raised alarm prompting neighbours to go after them and caught up with the one carrying the pot of soup and dealt him several machete cut before setting him ablaze.
“It was almost dawn when the boys attacked the woman and carried her pot of soup and when they were about getting out of the compound, she raised alarm and people came out and pursued them and caught up with this one”.
Our source who prefers anonymity said He said the boy was not able to run as fast as his accomplices were because he not drop the pot of soup but was running with it which gave the mob the chance to catch up with him and butcher him.
“This is not the first time they have come to our compound to steal.
Last week they removed the car battery of one of our neioghbours and once night falls, they waylay people, especially ladies around Goldie by Atu and snatch their handbags and phones”. He said.
At the time of writing the report there was no sign of the presence of security agents there while the body was still lying by the Atu Secondary School fence.
